Christina Hillman

Chairperson

Christina has been a proud resident of Shipton Bellinger since 2012. She loves the village for its proximity to Salisbury Plain, offering endless beautiful walks, and for the diverse community that provides countless opportunities to learn from others. Christina’s passion for community involvement is evident from her time as Chair of the Friends of Shipton PTA at Shipton Bellinger Primary School, where her two children attended. In this role, she supported parents, organised family-based activities, and raised funds to enhance the learning experience for all the children.

Christina also served as Chair of the Six Bells Regeneration Trust, a social enterprise dedicated to revitalising the local area and renovating a derelict pub for community use. She is particularly excited about the potential and opportunities that reopening The Boot Inn will bring to the village. She envisions it as a traditional village pub where future generations can come together, connect, and form new friendships—a vibrant community space that serves the needs of everyone in Shipton Bellinger and surrounding communities.

Christina believes that developing our people and nurturing community spirit is more important than ever in today’s fast-paced, digital world. She sees the community pub as a key player in supporting these values—a central hub offering much more than just a pint. It will be an inviting space that fosters a sense of belonging, removes barriers to social interaction, combats loneliness and isolation, and creates jobs and opportunities for local people. Christina is dedicated to making The Boot Inn a space that encourages social interaction and promotes community cohesion.

Christina reflects, saying, “The Boot Inn will be more than a pub—it will be the cornerstone of our village, where our community’s strength and unity come to life, empowering us to build a brighter future together.”
