Our Mission and Vision

Our mission is to raise the necessary funds to purchase and reopen The Boot Inn as the vibrant heart of Shipton Bellinger, a welcoming community hub where locals and visitors alike can gather, connect, and celebrate. Our vision is to create a dynamic space that preserves the charm and tradition of a village pub while fostering a strong sense of belonging. We are committed to offering quality real ales, delicious locally sourced food, and an inclusive atmosphere. Through sustainable business practices, local employment, and community support, we aim to enrich the lives of everyone who walks through our doors, making The Boot Inn a cornerstone of our village life.

Shipton Bellinger is a picturesque village nestled on the edge of Salisbury Plain, brimming with charm and a strong sense of community. With its stunning countryside views, welcoming residents, and unique blend of civilian and military families, the village offers a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Shipton Bellinger is more than just a beautiful place to live—it’s a close-knit community where people come together to support one another, celebrate traditions, and forge lasting connections. From its rich heritage to its modern-day warmth, Shipton Bellinger is truly a village like no other, where everyone feels at home.

SNAP (Shipton Needs A Pub) is structured as a Community Benefit Society (CBS), which is a type of organisation created to serve the broader interests of the community. Unlike private businesses, a CBS is run for the benefit of the community rather than individual shareholders, meaning all profits and assets are reinvested into the community.

This structure allows SNAP to focus on the long-term welfare of Shipton Bellinger and its residents. By purchasing and reopening The Boot Inn, SNAP ensures that this vital village hub remains in community hands, providing a space for social gatherings, local events, and fostering connections between civilian and military families. The CBS model empowers everyone in the village to have a voice and a stake in its future, making the pub not just a business, but a true asset for everyone to enjoy, both now and for generations to come.
