Hi, I’m Gwen
Vice - Chairperson
For over 60 years, Gwen has called Shipton Bellinger home—a place where most of her significant memories have been made. Her deep connection to the village drives her commitment to the SNAP campaign.
Gwen was an integral part of the original committee that raised funds for and delivered the first phase of the Village Centre. Her experience in various community projects, along with her skill in working with authorities, sponsors, and stakeholders, makes her an invaluable asset to the SNAP campaign. Gwen is dedicated to ensuring the project’s success at every step.
Reflecting on the campaign, Gwen says, “I’ve missed the simple pleasure of wandering down to the pub and catching up with friends without the need to plan ahead. The loss of this longstanding village benefit didn’t fully sink in until I started working on this project. Now, I realise just how much our community needs The Boot Inn back.”
What excites Gwen most about the SNAP campaign is the potential to revive the village’s active, community-driven spirit. She envisions The Boot Inn as a welcoming space where people can relax and connect, whether they’re part of a large group or just meeting a friend.
Gwen firmly believes that reopening The Boot Inn will not only restore a cherished local spot but also make Shipton Bellinger an even better place to live, bringing people together and strengthening the community she holds so dear.
