The Rt Hon Caroline Nokes MP Backs SNAP Campaign

The Shipton Needs A Pub (SNAP) campaign is delighted to have received the support of The Rt Hon Caroline Nokes MP, Member of Parliament for Romsey and Southampton North, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons. Caroline recently met with members of the SNAP committee during a visit to the area, where they discussed the value of restoring The Boot Inn to the community as a community-owned pub.

Following the meeting, Caroline voiced her enthusiasm for the campaign, saying:

“We all know pubs can be the beating heart of a community. I have seen elsewhere how effective and important community-run pubs can be at bringing people together, and it would be fantastic if the same could happen for Shipton Bellinger with The Boot.”

The SNAP committee were encouraged by Caroline’s comments and her recognition of the project’s importance. Gwen Phillips, Vice Chairperson of the committee, said:

“Caroline’s support is a huge boost for our campaign. Her understanding of how vital community pubs are in bringing people together reinforces our belief that The Boot Inn could once again be the heart of Shipton Bellinger.

The campaign continues to gain momentum, with a professional survey of The Boot Inn premises already commissioned and results expected in early December. Caroline’s endorsement adds further encouragement as the committee works to secure funding and strengthen community engagement.
