A Message from Christina Hillman

As Chairperson of Shipton Community Pub Limited, it is my honour to address you for the first time as part of our shared mission to secure the future of The Boot Inn. This is a defining moment for Shipton Bellinger, and together, we have the opportunity to create a legacy that will benefit our village for generations to come.

Just before Christmas, the owner of The Boot Inn declared their intention to dispose of the property, triggering its Asset of Community Value (ACV) protections. This gives us a unique six-month window to act. During this time, the property cannot be sold on the open market, giving our community the chance to raise funds, organise, and submit a bid to save it.

I am proud to share with you that Shipton Community Pub Limited have already taken the crucial step of notifying Test Valley Borough Council of our intention to bid for The Boot Inn. This ensures that our community remains in the race to secure its future, but the challenge ahead is significant. The success of this campaign depends on every single one of us working together to show the strength, resilience, and determination of Shipton Bellinger.

The Boot Inn is more than a pub. It has always been a place where our village connects, celebrates, and supports one another. Losing it would mean losing a vital part of what makes Shipton Bellinger special. But together, we have the power to save it and ensure it remains at the heart of our community.

Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can make this happen.

Christina Hillman, Chairperson
